LIONCLIFF CAPITAL ADVISES VARANDUS AGRI IN THE SALE OF FARMLANDS

TRANSACTION NEWS

TALLINN, August 23, 2018 – LionCliff Capital, the Nordic investment banking firm, is delighted to have advised Varandus Agri in the sale of farmland portfolio for grain farming in Estonia.

Varandus Agri, the private equity fund active in agricultural investments, acquired its farmland portfolio consisting of more than 1,000 hectares of land in 2014.

The fund's grain farming portfolio has been acquired by local farmers and investment funds in several transactions. LionCliff Capital continues to be mandated to advise on the sale of grassland.

During the investment period, LionCliff Capital advised its client in originating, negotiating and concluding land lease agreements with land operators, thus strengthening the position of Varandus Agri in the land lease market.

As a result of LionCliff Capital's involvement, the land units were leased and sold at market terms, allowing the fund to deliver sustainable and stable cash returns to its investors.

Varandus Agri was advised by LionCliff Capital and law firm Jesse & Kalaus.
